This was painted as a cover for The Utne Reader. The article title was "Burn the Rich". They wanted a Gulliver's travels type thing where Trump would be a giant . . . they wanted him tied to the Trump Tower in New York. This is the second cover I've painted for them. Like most cover's that I've done, there's only a certain space available for the art, so you need to keep in mind that there will be text, a bar code, and the magazine title, and you have to design your idea around that. That is why this piece is open on the left side as the right side and bottom went off the side of the magazine. This piece was a lot of fun to work on. For reference, I found several pictures of Trump that captured the character that I was looking for, but I mostly used one picture for the main expression. I also took pictures of myself as well as used a mirror to get extra details and character. Besides the cover, I also had an interior piece due for the same article, giving me two weeks to complete both a cover and interior piece.
