Phil Mickelson for GOLF Magazine Photoshop April 2009
This is a two page spread that I did for the latest issue of GOLF Magazine. This piece was a lot of fun to work on. Because the "actual" Golf course played such an important part in the article, I decided to devote more attention to the "character" of the course, and actually caricature the course as well. I created Michelson's face and expression, I took photos of myself as well as spent some time making faces in a mirror, then combining that with photo references of Phil. This is typical how I work, I enjoy creating something new rather than sticking too close to what's in a photo.
