Dan Auerbach is the front man for the band The Black Keys. My goal with this painting was to create the look, style, and mood of Dan and his music. To do that, I focused on my references of him which were in shadows, I decided to paint him with cooler colors while painting the background warmer and lighter in value. I think it has a cool effect. The background and body are made up from my own references. It's always fun to look at references of someone and then put them wherever you want.
